Sandi facilitates the public speaking component of the Self-employment training program – everyone’s favorite session in which to participate! Sandi has owned and operated her company, Verve Marketing & Communications, since 1991. Verve Marketing & Communications focuses on event planning and skills training.
Sandi’s goal for her business? Enhancing people’s lives through business and personal development opportunities.
She earned her Physical Education degree, and while developing a fitness education agency at Grande Prairie Regional College, she learned by doing, the facets required to create and operate a successful business. During this time, she earned her Distinguished Toastmaster designation through Toastmasters International, and she’s found that public speaking skills make a significant difference in growing a business.
Sandi has worn many hats, and not all of them “cowboy”! She was the manager of a downtown business association, worked with Business Development Bank of Canada, continues to facilitate courses for business operations and personal development, and has organized events including trade shows. Sandi also saddles up her expertise with the Canadian Finals Rodeo as a volunteer with the popular new annual River City Round Up Parade in downtown Edmonton.
Verve Marketing & Communication’s longest running show is the popular Grande Prairie Woman’s Show, which started in 1995 and is now held in spring and fall each year. Fall 2011 is also Verve’s first annual Woman’s Show in Fort McMurray! In addition to the successful Woman’s Shows, Sandi is the Manager of the Marketplace at Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose Alberta. Yeehaw!
Sandi’s passion about her work translates into awesome classroom experiences for ACTI students who test their mettle in public speaking, business promotion and personal development.
How does she manage to juggle each of these events, activities and responsibilities and manage to look cool, calm and happy all wrapped in leopard print? The only time you’ll see Sandi “bent out of shape” is on a yoga mat – where she is known to be almost every day, sometimes twice a day! Sandi exemplifies the perfect fit between her passion and her business as they continue to enhance her life, the lives of each of her clients, including one favourite ‘client’, her son Jordan!
