I was in the ACTI Self-employment program in 2008 with Class 57. The people and class structure helped me along the way to get started in my business. Doing a business plan and finding information on your endeavor is the first step to see how profitable your business will be.
The program made a point that there are many hurdles to overcome. For my business and my clients 2008 and 2009 were challenging years (due to the financial turndown that many people experienced, especially those on fixed incomes).
But I just kept moving forward no matter what the pace, and that is what one needs to do (to build a successful business).
Changes and mistakes are made along the way but all is worth the time and effort. I am still successful in the walk-in bathtub and accessories business as my home business.
